Robyn Martin' son - a PCIP & No Lifetime Limits Beneficiary

Robyn Martin's son with a congenital heart defect, having had open heart surgery at three and a half months old, will be able to have health insurance because of ACA's Pre-Existing Condition Plan and will be guaranteed treatment because ACA ends lifetime limits that Robyn's son has already almost reached.


 

 Barbara Kornblau - Daughter - a PCIP Beneficiary

Barbara Kornblau's daughter with history of heart surgery, asthma, fibromyalgia, arthritis and hepatitis C is unable to get insurance coverage, until ACA's Pre-Existing Condition Plan.


 

 Spike Dolomite Ward - PCIP Beneficiary

Spike Dolomite Ward, was living without health insurance, unable to afford $1,500/month individual insurance premiums. She was diagnosed with breast cancer and was rescued by the ACA's Pre-Existing Condition Plan which now covers her chemotherapy.


 

 Marjory Ackley - husband, Bill Ackley, having had chronic lymphocytic leukemia, was a victim of lengthy insurance denial appeals process.

Bill Ackley had to delay treatment and was not as receptive to the transplant when he received it.  The Affordable Care Act now requires that insurance companies give their decision within 72 hours after receiving request appealing the denial of a claim for urgent care.


 

Angela Bartels, Nurse - Diabetes Patients Benefiting from ACA

Angela Bartels, a primary care nurse, specializing in treatment of diabetes for uninsured, discusses her patients unable to start insulin therapy because they cannot afford the blood sugar monitoring equipment. She started a fundraising campaign that allowed her to purchase low cost meters online, but the effort took away from her time with the patients. The ACA will make health insurance affordable for her patients and will let her devote her time to providing health care.


 

Ellena Young, 3-time Cancer Survivor, has always had tenuous coverage.

Ellena's Son will now benefit from PCIP Plan.
